Is your teenager struggling?

Adolescence can be a very difficult time for teenagers, as well as parents. Teenagers are clearly stuck between the dependence of childhood and the independence of being an adult. Squeezed between these two extremes, adolescents struggle to assert and discover themselves. Turbulence and struggle are often a part of this process.

It can be a valuable and transformative experience to provide a space for teenagers to explore their feelings, and to begin to discover themselves in a new and deeper way. For teens dealing with conflict or trauma, the process of self-discovery is particularly important.

During these fundamentally challenging adolescent years, psychotherapy can be a helpful guide and a tool that parents, due to their intimate involvement, are often unable to provide. Whether you're a parent who is feeling desperate, or simply concerned about your teenager, I encourage you to call me for a free phone consultation to help you determine if adolescent psychotherapy would be the right choice for your son or daughter.
